Jelena Savic is an accomplished international development and humanitarian expert with over 25 years of experience spanning East Africa, the Horn, the Western Balkans, and the Middle East. With a strong academic foundation in psychology and cultural policy, she has led multidisciplinary programming and research initiatives focused on governance, civic engagement, education, protection, youth empowerment, and humanitarian access. She has served in senior advisory, programmatic, and evaluation roles for organizations such as the ILO, British Council, Mercy Corps, Internews, NDI, IRI, and numerous international NGOs and consulting firms.
Her work has included technical leadership on MEL systems, outcome harvesting, political participation assessments, and crisis response programming, with extensive field experience in Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Serbia, among others. As founder of CGE Ltd., she continues to offer strategic advisory services, including program design, evaluation, and capacity building across complex humanitarian and post-conflict contexts. Her expertise is particularly rooted in social psychology, peacebuilding, education in emergencies, CVE, and child protection, with a strong commitment to inclusive, community-driven development and localized solutions. She has also contributed to various publications and studies on democratization, youth attitudes, and regional peace initiatives.
