Abdirahman Abdullahi Sheik is the Research Director at Comert Consulting, bringing over seven years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, and research coordination across Kenya and Somalia. His leadership combines analytical rigor, field-based expertise, and strategic oversight to advance evidence-based programming and innovative procurement systems.
Before joining Comert Consulting, Abdirahman held senior roles in both the public and private sectors. He served as Senior Research Director at Somali Development Initiative (SODIN) in Baidoa and previously worked with Nomad Link Kenya in Dadaab, Northern Construction Company in Naivasha, and Gulf African Bank in Nairobi. These roles have equipped him with a well-rounded background in operational management, data-driven decision-making, and strategic procurement.
Abdirahman holds a master’s degree in business administration from Moi University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Purchasing and Supply from Gretsa University. He has also completed professional training through the Kenya Institute of Supply Management and has strong competencies in project planning, M&E, donor coordination, financial oversight, and data analysis using tools like Excel and STATA.
As a cross-border professional, he has led diverse teams and research initiatives in complex humanitarian and development settings, always with a focus on integrity, strategic thinking, and sustainable impact. Abdirahman is particularly passionate about building innovative procurement frameworks, advancing operational excellence, and strengthening capacity through research and results-oriented design.
His leadership at Comert Consulting plays a critical role in shaping research agendas and driving impactful, evidence-informed solutions across programs.
